October marks the official start of my journey to be fit and healthy by 40. The whole reason I started this blog was to hold myself accountable, so it’s only right I share my plans for the first month with you.
I’m keeping it simple—because that’s what I need right now. Time to get back to basics!
New Eating Plan:
Eating (relatively) healthy has always been my strong suit. A few years ago, I followed a program called JEFF Fitness and had great results with their eating plan. But lately? It’s become boring. We all know what happens when food gets boring, right? Cue the snacking. So, I’ve got a fresh new meal plan and shared this week’s menu with you on Sunday (click here to read again). Let’s spice things up!
Back at the Gym:
This year has been tough, especially with my health struggles, and the gym has taken a back seat. But I’m excited to get back into it. I’ve told my coach we need to take it slow—I’m seriously out of shape—so we’re starting with a four-week fat-burning routine. After that, it’s back to some more fitness-focused exercises (I am sure there will be burpees). And to keep with the theme of new – the gym has moved to new premises!
No Beer!!
If you know me, you know this is the biggest challenge. But it’s also going to bring the biggest results. Luckily, my eating plan has a cheat day (Sundays), and while beer isn’t allowed, I can enjoy two glasses of wine—which I plan to fully appreciate!
By the end of October, I’m aiming to have a solid routine in place:
- Meal prep
- Healthy eating
- 5 AM workouts
- Afternoon walks with the dogs instead of beers at the golf course
