Leg Day Struggles, Braai Temptations, and a 1kg Victory

Week one is done and dusted, and I crushed 80% of my goals – I’ll take that as a win.

      • I went to the gym three times this week, and thanks to an insane leg workout, I’m still struggling to get up and down from the toilet.

      • On Wednesday, we had family over for a braai, so I didn’t follow the meal plan strictly, but I steered clear of the carb part of the meal. I couldn’t say no to the “Oopsies” (if you know, you know).

      • I did have some beer (I can’t go cold turkey, after all), but it was definitely not on the levels of before.

      • Most importantly, I had a very clean and chilled weekend at home.

The main lesson learned is that Rome wasn’t built in a day. As my quote on my progress page says: Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally; it comes from what you do consistently. Slow and steady progress builds lasting habits.

For week two, I plan to improve my gym numbers and have NO beer. Next weekend is a bit more social, so I’ll need to carefully plan how to navigate it without sacrificing my results – watch this space to see how I do.

I was nervous to do my measurements this morning. You all know that feeling of disappointment when you’ve been working so hard, but I’m happy to say I’m down 1kg and 562g of fat. Curious about the full details? Head over to my progress page.
